The products of Altare
The History
The Altare family has a history of five generations of farmers who grow and sell grapes. Nicholas began his experience with the countryside and the winery in 2012 at the Principiano Ferdinando winery, which would be his teacher and encourage him to produce his own wine. In 2015 the first experiment of 1500 bottles of Dolcetto, vinified in Ferdinando’s winery; once the work in Nicholas’ winery has been completed, 2018 will be the first vintage produced independently.
Terroir & Winery
Nicholas Altare’s organic winery is completely artisanal; healthy and uncontaminated grapes in the field, spontaneous fermentations in the winery, concrete and wooden barrels for winemaking and refinement. No additives, just grapes, for a lively and intense material.
