The Argillae agricultural estate extends with its 15 hectares of vineyards on the hills between Allerona and Ficulle, north-west of Orvieto. Founded by Giuseppe Bonollo, descendant of a well-known family of distillers, it is today led by the young Giulia who has not failed to introduce innovations and experiments in a context of great tradition and depth.

The History
Giuseppe Bonollo, from the well-known family of distillers dating back to the 1900s, after the creation of the largest wine distillery in Italy, in the 1980s identified these hills as the ideal place to realize his second dream: Argillae. In those years, the winery’s high-quality production was aimed mainly at the foreign market, concentrating on the Italian one only starting from 2015 with the entry into the estate of its niece Giulia, who today manages the estate with wisdom and originality.
Terroir & Winery
The total surface area is approximately 120 hectares in which woods, olive groves and vineyards alternate; the 15 hectares of vineyards are located between 150 and 300m above sea level, exposed to east-west and characterized by clayey-sandy soils with the presence of gullies and marine fossils. Both traditional native varieties such as Grechetto, Procanico, Verdello, Drupeggio, Montepulciano and international white and red varieties are grown there.
