The History
The estate was born into a second life from the desire of Domenicoantonio Silipo and his sons to resume the path traced by Francesco Comerci, who founded the estate at the end of the 19th century. Domenicantonio’s father, Salvatore, had in fact emigrated to Emilia to follow his career as a lawyer, without however interrupting the link with the estate in Calabria, leaving the vineyards on loan and frequenting it annually together with his children, passing on to them his passion for the land and the vine. His son Domenicoantonio will in fact decide to rebuild the estate, together with his sons Francesco and Federico, giving it a new life.
Terroir & Winery
Casa Comerci is located in Badia di Nicotera, at the foot of Monte Poro, in the wine-growing heart of Calabria. The vineyards are located in two main areas a few kilometers from each other, and have been cultivated organically since 2009, with techniques aimed at respecting the environment and nature. For over 30 years the estate has made the valorisation of Magliocco Canino its flagship, with the aim of shedding light on this ancient variety and this fascinating and evocative land.
