The History
In 1996, having just graduated in oenology, Frédéric Leydet joined his father in the family business in Saint Emilion, and subsequently in this splendid Château La Croix Saint Vincent in Pomerol. The conversion of the vineyards from conventional cultivation to organic cultivation has received full certification starting from the 2015 harvest.
Terroir & Winery
The Pomerol denomination concerns the plateau that slopes in terraces towards the Isle Valley, at the confluence of the Dordogne river. The soil is formed on the surface by compact, clayey and sandy gravel, and in the subsoil by iron-rich clays. It is this particular soil, together with the climatic conditions, that gives Pomerol its distinctive character.
