The History
In 2004, Ciro Picariello and his partner Rita Guerriero began their winemaking adventure in Summonte, near Avellino. Today, Ciro is a renowned winemaker from Irpinia, with around 15 hectares of vineyards located in the villages of Summonte, where the winery is still located, and Montefredane.
Terroir & Winery
The Summonte area offers unique volcanic soil, with rocks and clay, and the vines grow at 650 meters above sea level, enjoying the cooler climate in the area. Montefredane, on the other hand, has vineyards at 500 meters on specifically clayey soil. Ciro Picariello’s wines, with rocky minerality, extreme freshness and strong personality, embody the most authentic Irpinia.
