The Curto estate is located in the territory of Ispica, in the south-east of Sicily, in the province of Ragusa. Historic family dedicated to the cultivation of their lands since 1700, in recent decades it has focused specifically on the cultivation of vines and the production of excellent local wines.

The History
Today Francesca Curto, fourteenth generation, leads the estate; her love for wine took her to France with a long internship in important Chateaux in both Bordeaux and Burgundy. Returning to Sicily, she wastes no time and immediately gets to work on the family business, following in her father’s footsteps with his great love for the countryside, and fully committed to enhancing the grapes of her beloved territory.
Terroir & Winery
At the center of production is Nero d’Avola which has its land of origin right here in Val di Noto; the area is by far the sunniest in Italy, well ventilated by sea breezes and characterized by strong temperature variations; the soils are calcareous in nature and rich in marl and clay. Here Nero d’Avola takes on more austere and complex characters, with an acidity that makes it more elegant and long-lived.
