The products of Fontuccia
The History
The Fontuccia winery was born in 2006 thanks to the brothers Giovanni and Simone, who came out in 2009 with their first bottling. The Rossi brothers have recovered old abandoned vineyards overlooking the sea to start producing the island’s traditional wine again: Ansonica. The winery is fully the protagonist of the rebirth of heroic viticulture on the Isola del Giglio.
Terroir & Winery
The vineyards are small terraces of dry stone walls among the granite rocks overlooking the sea, you can reach them exclusively on foot along steep paths, and are worked in an absolutely traditional way. They are all grown with Ansonica, the local native grape, and benefit from full sun and the beneficial influence of the sea. In their wines iodine, minerality, fruits and flowers, in other words the essence of the Giglio Island.
