Podere Il Castellaccio

In the 1960s Luigi Corradini, maternal grandfather of the current owner Alessandro Scappini, took over the estate located on the Segalari hill. To plant his first vineyards, Luigi was forced to look for clones in Chianti: Pugnitello, Foglia Tonda and Sangiovese. The passage is in the hands of his son Roberto, but it is with Alessandro, the third generation, that the turning point occurs. After completely different experiences, the call of the land and wine emerges and Alessandro officially founds the Podere Il Castellaccio winery in 2009: he takes over the native vines planted by his grandfather and focuses everything on diversification.
