The History
The estate was born from a small plot of Verdicchio purchased in the 1940s by Umberto Ceci; In the 1950s the land passed to Amato, one of Umberto’s fifteen sons, who together with his wife Maria started the production and sale of their own wines. In the early 2000s, his son Maurizio and his wife Serenella gave shape to the current estate, renaming it Vignamato. Today Alessandra, Andrea and Francesco, the fourth generation, are an integral part of the estate management.
Terroir & Winery
The 27 hectares of vineyards are divided into eight plots, each with peculiar characteristics, distributed between the municipalities of San Paolo, with 17 hectares, Maiolati Spontini and Cupramontana. The careful division into parcels and a series of small concrete tanks inherited from Amato allow precise and particular expressions, with Verdicchio at the center of production.
