Château Rieussec comes from a vineyard planted on extremely high-quality gravelly, sandy-clayey soils. The vines are Semillon, Sauvignon Blanc and Muscadelle. The wines are aged for 18-26 months in French oak barrels, of which 50-80% are new. Bottle aging defies decades.
Of an elegant golden-yellow hue, this wine offers a complex bouquet that opens with delicate notes of acacia, peach and quince, exotic spices, flowers and vanilla wood. In the mouth, it is generous, with a perfect balance between sweetness and freshness. It reveals flavors of candied fruit and dried apricot, as well as cinnamon and cloves. The ending is very long.
This wine pairs beautifully with foie gras and blue cheeses; also excellent paired with meats and fish with citrus marinades or sweet and sour condiments; it also lends itself to pairing with spicy and spicy dishes, including those of oriental cuisine.
