The grapes grow in Mazzon at an altitude of 400 m above sea level. The sandy-clay soil, the afternoon sun and the Ora del Garda provide ideal microclimatic conditions for Pinot Noir, which has been cultivated in this Cru for more than a century. The grapes are picked and selected by hand and fermented in large wooden vats for a fortnight in contact with the lees. Regular punching-down optimises the extraction of aromas and colour from the marc. After malolactic fermentation, the wine rests for one year in 500 l oak barrels, followed by 8 to 10 months in large oak casks. The bottled wine remains in the cellar for one year, until it is put on the market.
