Chassagne-Montrachet 1er Crù “Les Caillerets” 2014

Considered one of the most valuable interpretations within the Chassagne-Montrachet appellation, Premier Cru Les Caillerets is a Chardonnay characterized by a lighter structure than other wines of the same terroir and by a distinctive mineral character. The vineyard from which the grapes come is known for its stony soil and sparse soil, which allows the roots to develop deeply, thus enriching the taste and aromatic profile of the wine. A part of the cuvée completes its maturation in wooden barrels.

The wine has a straw yellow color embellished with bright golden reflections. At the beginning, it gracefully reveals citrus aromas of lime and grapefruit, then evolving towards sweeter notes of exotic fruit and toasted almond. In the mouth, it stands out for its softness, enveloping the palate with complex aromas and a pleasant mineral vein.

This Chardonnay, with its complexity and characteristic mineral touch, is an ideal accompaniment for a fish-based menu. It goes perfectly with gratin crustaceans and molluscs.
