Description

Produced from old vines of pure Pugnitello, an indigenous Tuscan variety, in less than one hectare of vineyard. Spontaneous fermentation with indigenous yeasts in cement vats, in contact with the skins for about 15 days. After racking, the wine is placed in 500-litre tonneaux for 12 months. This is followed by bottling and a further 12 months of ageing in the bottle.

Tasting

The nose is intense and fine, with small red fruits, spices and balsamic hints. The sip is elegant, full and complex, with dense, sweet tannins and a fine minerality.

Savoury first courses, grilled or stewed red meat, game, mature cheeses.
